As part of insurance.com.au’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality insurance solutions and exceptional service, we frequently review the market to identify competitive offerings. That’s why we are pleased to announce that to support our psychologist clients we have established a new partnership with Keystone Underwriting Agency (“Keystone”), an underwriting agency authorised to act on behalf of underwriters at Lloyd's of London. 

 

Keystone brings expertise in the allied healthcare sector. Their Psychologists Professional Indemnity, Public Liability, Products Liability, and Cyber product is tailored for Psychologists, providing protection for professional risks and uniquely integrating cyber coverage to address modern digital practice exposures. 

 

The Keystone Psychologist Insurance product will be available from the 14th of April 2026 for purchase and renewal on the insurance.com.au website.  

 

Please see below FAQs regarding this transition.  

1. Why has insurance.com.au changed their Psychologists Insurance underwriter? 

As part of our ongoing duty and commitment to our clients, we went to market last year to ensure our insurance offering is competitive, from both a product and price perspective. We carefully considered feedback from our psychologist clients and have taken steps to enhance clarity around policy endorsements, scope of coverage and claims support. We strive to provide a high-quality insurance product that meets the requirements of our clients.

2. Who is Keystone?

Keystone is an underwriting agency offering a fresh approach to insurance solutions and brings extensive expertise in the Psychologist insurance sector. The insurance.com.au and Keystone partnership has strengthened our ability to delivered tailored, high-performance insurance solutions for Psychologists.

3. Do I still purchase my Psychologists Insurance through insurance.com.au?

Yes. Your Psychologist’s Insurance policy will still be purchased or renewed via insurance.com.au.  

4. What is new to this insurance policy?

In addition to retaining the core coverage of the existing Psychologist policy, insurance.com.au has negotiated additional benefits for our clients.  

These benefits include: 

  • Any One Claim coverage for General Liability
    Public liability claimsareno longer subject to the aggregate limit*.
  • Standalone Cyber Insurance

Maximum aggregate limit of liability $25,000 per policy period.
Dedicated cyber cover offering targeted protection against digital risks such as data breaches, ransomware, and business interruption. 

  • Contract reviewforpolicy related matters(up to 4 sessions) *

Contract review refers to the assessment of third‑party contracts received as part of your business operations to determine whether your existing insurance program provides appropriate coverage for the obligations and risks outlined within those agreements. 

  • Automatic coverage for Psychedelic Assisted Therapies*
  • Play Therapists now included in scope
  • Reduced premiummaybe considered on a case-by-case basis when Insured is on extended break*
  • Principal’s IndemnityExtension**

5. Will my insurance premium change?

insurance.com.au recently conducted market research across a range of psychologist insurance providers. Keystone was among the most competitively priced options while continuing to offer a broader scope of cover. However, consistent with market conditions, you may still notice an increase in your policy premium this year. 

6. Do I still have access to 1-hour complimentary legal advice?

Insured members will continue to have access to 1-hour complimentary legal advice on any matter relating to your insured Health Care Services subject to terms and conditions of the policy.

7. Have the modalities changed?

There is no change to modalities. 

8. I’m a student, do I still have access to a complimentary policy?

Yes. The complementary policy will now be offered by Keystone. Subject to policy terms and conditions. Please refer to the PDS and policy document.  

9. How do I renew my policy with the new insurer?

The new Psychologists Insurance policy will be available on insurance.com.au from the 14th of April 2026. If your policy is due to renew on or after this date, you will be able to complete your renewal directly via the platform as usual.  


If your renewal date is 14 April 2026, but you need payment to be processed prior to this date, please contact the insurance.com.au team and they will be happy to assist in arranging your policy with the new insurer.

10. My policy is due before the 14thof April, does this change affect me?

If your Psychologists Insurance policy is due on or before the 13th of April 2026, you will not be affected by this change, and your renewal will proceed as normal. You will be eligible to renew your policy underwritten by Keystone in 2027.  

 

If your renewal date is 14 April 2026, but you need payment to be processed prior to this date, please contact the insurance.com.au team and they will be happy to assist in arranging your policy with the new insurer. 

11. How do I renew my policy?

You can expect renewal invites from insurance.com.au leading up to your insurance expiry date, with instructions on how to renew your policy.  

12. My current policy doesn’t expire for a while; what happens?

You will continue to be covered under the ProRisk Healthcare Professionals Civil Liability policy until your policy expiry date. 

 

We will send you a renewal reminder well before the policy expiry date and you will be offered the opportunity renew under the Keystone Psychologist Insurance policy subject to meeting the underwriting guidelines. 

 

For example, if your policy expires on 10 November 2026, your policy renewal will move to the Keystone Psychologist policy from that date.
